</text>

It highlights the limits of these methods for the urban greenways, because of the plurality of ecosystem services related to biodiversity, the diversity of stakeholders and scales of development. It advocates a spatial pluralistic Multi-criteria evaluation method, with monetary and non-monetary items, and takes into consideration the conditions for a democratic evaluation. </text>

</text>

<text>How can new tramways lines promote the development of sustainable cities? This article attempts to address this question through the use of a theoretical model, which situates the economic transport system within three contexts: the larger economic environment, the social environment and the natural environment. A new tramway line constitutes a new supply within the economic transport system of an urban area and this supply in turn produces potential effects within that system and its three environments. These effects, which are identified on the basis of studies carried out by urban planning agencies in Nantes, Grenoble and Strasbourg, are grouped together in three geometrical configurations: the line, the corridor, and the perimeter. These forms can then be organized into concrete territories such as the street, the pedestrian neighborhood and the city. The sustainable city project can thus use the potential effects of modern tramways for the simultaneous reproduction of the economic sphere, the social sphere and the biosphere within the urban space. </text>

<text>This dissertation discusses the mainly unpublished empirical, or "concrete", studies of urban space by Henri Lefebvre (1901 - 1991) and demonstrates that Lefebvre's theory of production of space cannot be understood without taking these studies into account. Based on archival research and interviews with former collaborators of Lefebvre, this dissertation allows for a re-reading of the theory of production of space that demonstrates its relevance for today's urban research and design practice in architecture and urbanism.

While Lefebvre's work, since its rediscovery in the 1990s, has contributed to the theoretical renewal of sociology and geography, its significance for empirical analysis and design disciplines has been hardly recognized. This dissertation fills this gap by showing that the crucial sources of the main questions, methods and arguments of the theory of production of space were Lefebvre's engagements in empirical studies on the everyday practices of habitation in the 1960s and 1970s in France and his analyses of suburban housing and collective estates. This allows situating the key concepts of Lefebvre's theory of space within the political, economic, intellectual, urbanistic, and architectural transitions of post-war France.</text>

</text>

<text>The presence of foreign women in Italy is particularly relevant in communities originating from Eastern European countries. This presence is destined to increase in the near future. Eastern European women are particularly numerous in the Adriatic regions, mainly because of spatial proximity. This kind of mobility is also reinforced by the EU development programmes favouring cooperation among all the Adriatic regions. The phenomenon is relevant enough to justify the existence of an Adriatic model. Chieti-Pescara metropolitan area represents well this model. Female migration in this area is characterised by a large presence of Eastern European women, fairly well-educated, who move alone, motivated by economic factors, searching for autonomy and independence. They play an important role in the domestic care, in a mature society where women have a job outside home. Their salary is not very high but it is used also to contribute to the survival of the family members left behind with whom they keep a strong link. </text>
