Description
This contribution presents the way we use the concept of ambience and the method of "commented walk" with the intention of comprehending the expectations that two ecological neighborhood users have of the space they live in. We call these expectations "expected space". Our main key to access it is the collection of perceptions and evaluations of the lived space during commented walks. The hypothesis we work on is that people judge the space they live in by comparing what they perceive with what they expect. By asking people about their perception and judgment of their everyday environment, we are able to understand the reference and representations they use to judge, in other words the "expected space".
